Settings is one panel with five sections: general, personalization, connections, billing, and privacy & about. Everything below is a control that ships today. If something is not listed here, there is no screen for it yet.

Opening settings

Open the sliders glyph in the bottom-left corner of the app. On a phone, tap the menu glyph in the bottom bar and pick Settings. There is a search box at the top of the panel: type “voice” or “areas” and it jumps you to the row.

Changing how Donna talks to you

Donna feeling too chatty, or too blunt, is the voice setting. Change it under personalization. There are four presets, and switching takes effect on the next reply:
  • sharp & dry: skips preamble, names what is in your way, dry humor.
  • warm & direct: soft on the person, clear on the call, light humor.
  • calm mentor: patient, observational, reflects more than directs.
  • sparring partner: pushes back, plays competitive framing, high humor.
Voice changes the wording, not a sound. Donna replies in text.

How many Actions you get in a day

If you are getting too many or too few Actions, set actions per day, under personalization. It takes a number from 1 to 10 and is a soft target: Donna eases it on hard days. There is no separate control for how long an Action runs, and Donna sizes each one from the time you have before your next event.

Correcting what Donna has wrong about you

Tell Donna in the conversation. It works from your correction for the rest of that conversation, and that is the only control for what Donna has learned. There is no screen for viewing or editing it. The durable reset is deleting your account, under general, which removes everything Donna holds about you. See Your data and privacy.

What Donna can see while you work

Under personalization, share your work surface lets Donna read your work view page so a nudge fits what is actually on it. It is on by default. Turned off, Donna still knows you are working but cannot read the page. Your calendar and the tools you have connected are separate, under connections, and each can be disconnected there.

When Donna reaches out

All of this is under personalization, in “reaching out”:
  • let Donna reach out: the master switch. Off, Donna waits for you.
  • active hours: your working window. It shades the day-calendar band and marks when you are open to Donna starting a conversation.
  • morning brief and morning brief time: whether the once-a-day rundown arrives, and the local time it is written for.
  • morning writing: a quiet line under the morning to keep or write in your own words.
  • automatic reviews: whether the day’s close and the week’s read arrive on their own. Off, you can still ask for either one.
  • notifications on this device: a per-device switch, and it only appears where push works.
See Check-ins and nudges for what Donna sends and when.

The general section

full name, what Donna calls you, timezone, theme (light or dark), haptics (the vibration on taps in the iPhone build, on by default), and areas, where you rename, recolor, or merge the Areas your Outcomes live in. The account rows are here too: sign out, and delete account.

When something is broken

Connections that need re-granting, a mic that will not start, a reply that stopped halfway.
