How Donna builds the next task.
You bring the goal. Donna helps you work out what to do next, then keeps learning from what happens.
Find the three forms you already have
Last year’s return lists every form you’ll need again. Pull out the ones that have already arrived.
Open the folder and take out last year’s return.
The task changes with the moment.
Donna considers
- Which goal needs attention
- Where the work stands
- Your time and energy
- What could help you start
That can mean
- Making the work smaller
- Starting with a part that interests you
- Trying a different approach to the same goal
Each task includes In experiments, people given a more concrete way to think about a task were less likely to put it off.McCrea, Liberman, Trope & Sherman, Psychological Science, 2008., so you know where to begin. You can ask for a smaller start or skip it.
Once its moment has passed, the task is discarded. Your goal stays.
Work in short cycles
A cycle gives you a few days to work on a goal, then a chance to review what happened and decide what comes next.
Choose a commitment
Decide with Donna how many times you’ll work on the goal over the next few days. Adjust the suggestion until it feels doable.
Start when you’re ready
Each time you start, Donna builds a task for that moment. You’re committing to time with the goal, without having to plan every task in advance.
Review and choose again
Look at what happened and what you learned. Continue with another cycle, pause with your progress saved, or mark the goal complete.
It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
Some days, you don’t feel up to anything. Other days, shit happens and it’s hard to get your head back into the day. Donna can talk it through with you, offer a guided breathing or grounding exercise, or help you find something manageable when you feel ready.
When taking a break is the best thing to do, your progress stays and nothing piles up.
Less explaining every time you open it.
Donna remembers what you’re working toward, where the work stands, and approaches that have helped you start. Your conversations, drafts, calendar, and connected tools give it that context.
You stay in control of what you share with Donna and which tools you connect. You can correct what it remembers or ask it to forget something.
