# Connect the tools you already work in to Donna

> Two ways to connect a tool, when Donna reaches into one, how sending stays behind a confirm step, and what disconnecting revokes.

Donna connects to the tools you already work in: Gmail, Notion, Google Drive, Google Docs, Todoist, Slack, and more. You connect a tool once, and from then on Donna can reach it when a task needs it. Your calendar connects separately, in the [calendar](/docs/connections/calendar) section.

## Connect a tool

A connection can happen in two places:

* **In settings.** Open settings from the sliders menu in the bottom-left (on a phone, the menu glyph in the bottom bar, then **Settings**), go to the **integrations** section, and choose **connect** next to a tool. Donna sends you to that tool's own sign-in, and you come back connected.
* **In the moment.** When a task needs a tool you have not connected, Donna offers a connect option in the chat. One tap runs the same sign-in.

Gmail, Notion, Google Drive, Google Docs, Todoist, and Slack are the tools Donna surfaces by default. It can connect others on request when a task needs one.

<Note>
  Connecting Gmail does not put Donna in your inbox in the background; it means Donna can help when the work in front of you touches email. The same holds for every tool. If the work in front of you is a reply you keep opening and closing, the guide on [replying to emails with ADHD](/docs/guides/cant-reply-to-emails-adhd) covers shrinking it to two lines and sending it through the connected account.
</Note>

## Tasks you keep in Todoist

Connect Todoist and Donna can look at your tasks there when the work in front of you calls for it, rather than you re-checking a second list. It reads them during the conversation, the same as any other connected tool; nothing is pulled across in the background while you are away.

Todoist is read-only: completing work in Donna does not check anything off in Todoist. Your list there stays yours to manage.

## Send through a connected tool

A connected tool also lets Donna send what you write. When you finish an email or a Slack message in the [work view](/docs/daily/working-an-action), Donna sends it through the connected tool.

Donna always opens a confirm step first: you see the recipient and the full text, edit anything, and the message goes out only when you tap send. A send cannot be undone.

## Disconnect a tool

Disconnect any tool anytime from the same **integrations** section. Disconnecting revokes Donna's access at that tool, and Donna reaches nothing in it until you reconnect.
